Pandora's Box

Updated: Jun 9, 2021

When I woke up this morning it was a perfectly normal day, although you can probably already figure out that this wasn’t the case for the rest of my day. I was going to the Greek Mythology Museum with my family and I’ll admit, I was ecstatic! So when my mom called me down for breakfast I raced downstairs already dressed and ready to go. But, of course, the rest of my family wasn’t so I had to wait, but eventually they were ready. When we finally got the museum and bought our tickets I headed straight for the new exhibit about the story of Pandora. I’d been waiting for months for the exhibit to be open and I heard they had a replica of what they think Pandora’s box looked like. When I arrived at the exhibit I noticed that everything seemed pretty quiet for a new exhibit, especially on a Saturday. I didn’t think much of it and continued my search for the box. Unfortunately for me there were no flashing lights or large signs to bring it to my attention which means I had to go through the whole exhibit, which I was completely fine doing by the way. After about an hour of going through the exhibit I came across a rather small vase in the far back corner of the room. On the label it said Pandora’s Box. I had not expected it to be this small but I was excited nevertheless. Curious, I leaned over the vase to see if it was open or not, to my surprise it was slightly ajar. I was about to walk away when something compelled me to open it all the way. You would think I wouldn’t open it being that the exact same thing happened to Pandora and it didn’t end well for her, but nope. I reached for the lid and slowly pulled it off. The strangest thing happened after I pulled it off, the world around me seemed to start spinning and being sucked into the vase. As I felt myself being sucked in, I closed my eyes and clenched my fist. I must have passed out because when I woke up I was staring at a girl who looked to be about 20, wearing a toga? I looked around me and everyone but myself was wearing a toga. The lady introduced herself as Pandora and I swear to you I nearly passed out again. This had to be a prank right? Right?! Nope. She explained that she opened the box and we emerged from it. We are the negatives that came from the box. We are the danger and despair that came from the box. Her box brought our world...to hers.
