The Festival

“Are you going to the festival tonight?” Julia asked.

Elliot shrugged, “I’m not sure. I want to go, but I can’t find anyone to take me.”

“Oh sorry about that,” Julia looked around, “Yeah, I don’t know either. I mean it sounds fun but it’s not really my scene. Not a huge fan of crowds.”

Elliot nodded knowingly, “Definitely, I don’t like crowds very much either. I prefer a smaller group but everyone has been raving about the festival for the past month so I almost feel like I have to go just to say I did.”

“See, that’s my issue too. I mean seriously, if I say I didn’t go then I’ll probably disappoint my friends. They’ve been so excited about it.”

Elliot took a sip of his water, “Well since we have the same problem we could always go together. I mean you can drive me and then you can say you went. And we can always leave early if we don’t like it.”

Julia stuffed her hands in her pockets, “I mean, sure if you want. I can pick you up at around 6-ish and we can go.”

Elliot nodded and spread his wings, “You would think angels would actually be able to use these wings once in a while.”

Julia chuckled, “Yeah I feel you, but heaven doesn’t allow flying. Only walking, biking, and driving-”

“-even if one doesn’t have a license….” Elliot muttered.

“Yes even if you don’t have a license,” Julia smiled, “I guess I’ll see you at the festival, I’m kind of I’m excited to see the new arrivals.”

“Sure, new angels are always a little loud but I guess we all were new once.” Elliot shrugged.

Julia nodded and waved goodbye before turning to leave, “See you tonight!”

“See ya!”
